Walk Through

I finally had a few days with no rain last week.
The pathways are in.
It is now easier to walk through with out getting muddy.

This pathway goes from the back yard to the deck and patios.
I put in walkways where Mr. M. can not reach with his lawn tractor.
And he does not like to weed eat.

I still have to mulch, but that is the easy part.

Pretty pink rose bush.

Purple Phlox.

Quite a difference.

My youngest son wanted to know why mom was taking pictures of the walkway in her pj's.
So early in the morning.
I tried doing it on a sunny day, but the pictures were over exposed.

Hydrangeas.
I have a love/hate relationship with them.
I love them.
They hate me.
Well, not really.
I need to plant them in better spots.
I am hoping this pretty pink one is in a happy place.
\\

This new pathway is next to the pool.
The kids like to Hop Scotch through.

Another area Mr. M. does not like to do.
SO
 I fixed it for him.
With pretty flowers!

This little guy is one of the pink fairy roses.
Like the ones in the front and by the deck.
Yes, he will probably grow so big I will have to move the pathway to somewhere else.
That is the fun of flower gardening.

More pink fairy roses.
I do love them so.
They tend to be less maintenance than regular roses.

Pink Cone flowers.

Pink phlox.

Multi pinks and red Sweet William.

Behind the wild growing asparagus and in front of the pine tree is where the next flower garden is going.
That hill will be transformed into a beautiful garden within the next few weeks.

This is my left over pile.
I also bought a few trees on sale.
In the fall I will add the evergreen bushes from the pots on the deck.

Then that is it.
I swear.
No more new gardens this year.
I think.
He hopes.

This is why.

Why I love my roses.
This is a bunch of my pink fairy roses and pink climbing roses.
Love them.
They smell divine.

And you?
Why do you garden?

The Roses are Here, The Roses are Here

My pink fairy roses are starting to bloom.

There are masses of them.

My pink climbing roses are also in bloom.
It smells heavenly here.

They are growing up the arbor.

The pink fairy rose bush in the back yard.

There are several birdhouses in there, though you can barely see them.

It looks amazing with all that pink.
This is the first blooming.
They will bloom for several weeks, then grow all summer and bloom again late August/September.

White climbing roses by the side entrance to the garage.
This is where I want to put the small over door arbor.
By the end of summer I will surely need it.

The roses on the path to the fire pit are in full bloom.
Some have lost their petals and they looks so pretty on the ground.

Today, I plant 4 more rose bushes.
The sun is out and I can move dirt to where I need it.

This is my project for the week.
Put in dirt and plants and a new walkway.

I have exciting news.
We have passed the electrical, plumbing and rough inspection.
It is time for insulation!

We have saved, worked and waited for this for 4 years.
Lots of work ahead, but we can't wait to get started.

I hope you are having a wonderful summer and thanks for stopping by.

I am partying with Tracie from Fishtail Cottage for a Cottage Garden Party.

HAPPY FATHER'S DAY

Dad is Great!
Gives us chocolate cake  pie!

He's a great dad.
The kind of day who would give you pie for breakfast.

Our Father's Day tradition is to go to a neighboring Fire Hall and have Father's Day breakfast.
My husband enjoys going because he gets enjoy breakfast with his family,
but also he sees so many of his fellow firemen.

It is supposed to be a partly rainy day, so we will watch a family movie together and then head outside for walk or bike ride on the path.

Time together!

HAPPY FATHER'S DAY!

Dreamy Lighting

Romantic lighting!

Currey & Company 9008 5 Light Paramour Chandelier, Smoke Gold

We are so close to the next step towards finishing our new master bedroom.

We finished putting in the electrical boxes for the lights this week.
I of course changed my mind several times.
I tried to visualize how they would look when the room is done.
The final one we were trying to center over where we will put the bed.
Mr. M. says he does not want a light over the bed, said he does not like the one we currently have over our bed now.

I batted my eyes at him and said "what if it is a romantic crystal chandelier?"
He rolled his eyes and moved the box.

He knows I have been thinking about all of it.

The colors.
The mantel.
The floor.
The drapes.
The furniture.

All of it.

Right now I am concentrating on the lighting.
And, there are a lot of them.

13

Good thing I am not superstitious.
Five of them you will not see, they are in closets and the laundry room.
I may not attach a light to the fan in the middle of the room.
That leaves us with.

7

I do not want them to all match.
I do not want them to clash either.

I am thinking of having them all have crystals.

Different heights.

Different styles.

Some elegant.

Some simple.

So what do you think?
Will they all work together in one room?
It is a large room.

Ballet Slipper Pink

I started painting my daughter's desk chair.
Ballet Slipper Pink.

Such a delicate color.
I am not sure what fabric I am going to use.
I am going to go through my stash of vintage fabric in hopes of finding one that has the same color in it.
My daughter ok'd ruffles at the bottom edge.

I started painting my daughter's desk chair.
Ballet Slipper Pink.

Before the chair was painted.

Flowers from the grocery store.
Same kind of pink.

In the living room.

Peonies from the gardens.
Same.

In the dinning room.

Roses in my flower garden.
Same.

Peonies in the garden.
Same.

Flowers in the pots.
Same.

I think I have my theme color this summer.
Pink.
With a side of blue.

Have you planted your pots?
What are your colors?
