The Boy Can STILL Draw

I posted earlier in the month about my oldest son drawing and the affect it was having on his math skills and possibly interfering with his chance of passing 2nd grade and moving up to 3rd grade.

HE PASSED!

My son is going into 3rd grade and he has earned his drawing privileges back.

You have no idea how many times I caught him trying to sneak drawing this past week.  I had to ground him from drawing to get him to concentrate on his math until we found out if he passed or not.

If DRAWING is the worst thing my son does at school I will be more than happy.

He drew a new picture to celebrate.

He has been into pirates lately.
Last night he watched Superman so I am sure some new drawings will be in order.

Now that I do not have to worry about school, I can concentrate on having a great Summer!

I hope all of you can have a worry free Summer too.

  1. so glad to hear. the sweet drawing brought back memories of when my boys were younger. endless stack of war scenes...I worried a little, but when they could tell me what wars they were (or even what specific battles) I figured they were at least good in history! I had a good chuckle over your math dilema. thanks for sharing. and tell your son his drawing is GREAT. enjoy your blog. your shed into cottage was wouza.

  2. I raised one of those little artists too. They are delightful, but it is so difficult for them to try to get in step with any rigid schedule (like school, work, most of life!!). They just "march to the beat of a different drummer" you know. Once we got him through school and art school (they start so early and on time!!), he found work that works for him!
