I'm in Pain Here

I can say that I have been busy.

Sick that is.

Man, I do not get sick that often, but when I do it kicks my butt.
For the first time since I started my job, I had to call in sick.

That is NOT something I do.
I had a horrible cough, so bad that I found out what muscles are used in your back to cough.

I called in twice.

Totally unheard of!

I could barely move without crying out in pain that is how much it hurt.
I went to my Dr., they were not much help, you have a virus-three ibuprofen and you can go back to work tomorrow.

HELLO, WHAT ABOUT MY BACK?

I know I looked at the woman like she had a couple of horns coming out of her head.
That is how I felt!

So then I did the smart thing and went to the Chiropractor.
She could tell how much pain I was in, she showed some sympathy, did her magic and even though I was still in pain, I felt better mentally when I left.
Like she was listening to me and really understood what was wrong.

I had a day off and then I did go back to work on Friday like the good Dr. said I could.
Even my manager could see I should not be at work.
But, because they were short staffed, I stayed through lunch and then was sent home early.

I was able to rest over the weekend.
I still have the cough but my back is feeling so much better.

It was my first time going to a Chiropractor, but it will definitely not be my last.

While I was busy being sick, Mr. M. was busy putting some new flooring in the basement.
I am in love with how good it looks already.

Have you ever had a bad experience with your Dr.?  Feeling like they really weren't paying attention?
Well, I hope all of you had a wonderful weekend!

  2. Yes, a lot lately!!! When they don't know what's going on, they just dismiss you like its all in your head! I'm so sorry that you have been so ill! If the cough continues, please go and see another Dr., it could be something more that the first Dr. didn't take the time to find.
Take care of yourself and I hope your feeling much better soon Alaina!
    Sincerely,
    Melinda

  3. I'm so sorry sweet girl that you have been sick and sore. I sure hope you get better soon.
I have had a couple of not-so-good appointments with doctors before, but they were dr. for Landon and were neurologists, they can be the worst. But thankfully our family doctor is a gem.
    sending big hugs...

  5. You did a really smart thing by going to the chiropractor! I would have never thought of it. So sorry to hear your down and out. Take care of yourself and let the kids and hubby love ya back to health. Don't even think of helping hubby. (yet)

  6. ah, as much as we hate it, it's a good doctor who doesn't hand out meds for a virus. That's no comfort at all though, is it. Maybe you had the flu, Alaina?? Hope you're feeling better soon!! I've had some mighty horrid coughs too, so I totally sympathise!
