Flowers for Me

I was at the grocery store with the kids and I could not resist.

I usually do not buy cut flowers for myself, nor do I expect them from my husband.
I would rather buy the plant to have flowers for the season, but these called my name.

I could take a hundred pictures of them, they are so beautiful.
Not pure white but with a hint of pink.

I wish I could keep their beauty as I see them today and make it last forever.

It just goes to show you CAN find beauty everywhere, even the grocery store.

I am linking to my favorite party WHITE WEDNESDAY with Kathleen at Faded Charm.

I Can NOT Idle

I do not know about other creative people, but myself, I can not just SIT for very long.  I read a few magazine pages and an idea comes.  I'm up and off to look in my stash of, fabric, paint, objects.  It does not matter, just something new to do.  Lately I have been a mad woman working on one new project after another.  I have not been this creative in a long time.

In some ways it is very good, GOOD, and in some ways it is very bad, BAD.  I have come up with a lot of new creations to take to the flea market, but every room has evidence that I have been working in it.  The kitchen table is filled with candles and tags of every sort.  There are frames drying on the kitchen table.  The dinning room is full of fabric scraps and chairs waiting to be reupholstered.  The basement has fabric all over, waiting for me to decide where I might need some.  The garage is a disaster zone, 1/2 painted furniture waiting for a second or third coat.  You can not even walk in the shed, it is being dismantled of all the pretty treasures I am going to sell in the flea market.  My office, there is only enough room to get to the computer keyboard.  AHHHHHHH

Does anyone else's creativity do this to them.  There are many projects that I have finished and they just have to be packed away.  I have a tendency to do multiple projects at a time, my thinking is, if one piece is drying, why do nothing or CLEAN the house, when I could be painting another piece of furniture.

Today, in between finishing all of my different projects I will show you a few that have been or are almost finished.

Papered cork boards and button and shell pins.  The idea for the papered cork board I got from seeing a sneak peek at Tattered and Timeless wall panel, I did not use whole pages but rather parts of them.  I can't wait to see her booth, it is going to be amazing.

Chalk boards in vintage frames.  This idea came after seeing them at My Sweet Savannah, I thought, hey I have tons of vintage frames.  Out came the paint, then I raided my brother's stash of extra wood.  A perfect fit.  So far I have made five, the extra one is for MOI!

Dressers, mirrors, shelves, OH MY!  Most of these just need a touch up and they are done

I am SO ready for this flea market to be here.  I don't know if my family I can handle another two weeks of being creative.  I just hope for all the hard work that it turns out to be a wonderful day.  Thanks for stopping by, I'm off to paint something, or glue, or sew.  Oh the fun I will be having.

Welcome

Welcome to Arbor House Lane!

Have you ever moved into a new home and had the neighborhood welcoming committee stop by with flowers and a basket with all the info you need when moving to a new town?  You get a warm and fuzzy feeling, like you picked the best place to be.  Well, that is kind of what this felt like.  I had a surprise in my email when I opened it on Thursday morning.

This is what I found:

Just wanted to let you know you've been featured at my weekly Welcome Wagon Friday post, which is already published. (I always put them up the day before.) Welcome to Blog Land!

Brenda http://cozylittlehouse.com

WOW!

I had to go look for myself, I had never had this happen before.  All of the bloggers I have come in contact with have always been so nice, helpful and friendly, but this one just got me....a welcome wagon.

Come with me and check this out here.   I found the sweetest little post; Welcome Wagon Friday where the blogger, Brenda from Cozy Little House was going around and finding new blogs for her followers to go and visit.  Brenda picked me and three other bloggers for this Friday's Welcome Wagon.

The sweetest words:  WELCOME TO BLOG LAND!

Now I am going to tell you a little about Brenda, she lives in a cozy little house in East Texas.  She likes to quilt, collect trinkets and can be found in her garden or feeding the birds and squirrels.  I have heard that everything in Texas is big, well I found out Brenda has a big heart and you can tell how much her followers appreciate her when you read their comments.

Thank you so much Brenda for your Welcome Wagon.

I also try to find a new blogger to check out each week.  I have had the pleasure of finding new blogs that I enjoy for their WHITES, blogs that are witty and make me laugh, others that are full of DIY and can do spirit, some that are just full of beauty and some that I appreciate just for their style.

I have been fortunate that each day I look at my blog roll and I will see or read something that makes me smile.

*I just have to watch out for the CUTE kitten!

 Have a WONDERFUL weekend.
Have you found someone who makes YOU smile.

Whites for the Flea Market

Until I do the flea market at the end of August it is pretty much all that I think about.

What needs to be painted?  What still needs upholstering?  Do I have enough tags?  Are my business card tags ready?  When do I get my new printer?  Can I pick up my new sewing machine yet?  How do I work these machines?  Am I ready to start Etsy yet?  Lots, and lots yet to do.

Oh, and is it time for the beach YET?

I have actually done quite a bit in between all of my normal daily goings on.  Do you remember this dresser?  Yellow, you may remember it is my least favorite color.

Well it's not yellow anymore!

Happy dresser, no more nasty yellow.

How about this bench, do you recall that tapestry top?

It has a good body but the top has to go.

Now this is not my normal colors but I plan on having a display for Fall/Halloween and this will be perfect.  Hey if it doesn't sell I can always redo the seat again.

Rocker before

and

after.

I painted the frame and mirror white too.
Even the baseballs are going to be displayed in a bowl for sale.

These are only a few of the many treasures I will be selling at the flea market, to see more visit my new shop blog here.

I am joining Kathleen from Faded Charm for White Wednesday.

What have you painted WHITE lately?
