Randomness After A LONG Break

Spring at Arbor House Lane.
Randomness around the house.

It has been a LONG time.
I have been here, just in the background.

Hydrangeas left over from Mother's Day.
I love the purple with the white in the mudroom.

I switched out the aqua cabinet in the mud room for the white one.
I am not sure if it will stay all summer.

I have been craving some color.
That usually happens after a
LONG WINTER!

As you can see, I still have some Easter to put away.

I am so ready to move from house gardens to yards gardens.
The weeds are multiplying.

Sunlight shinning in the living room.

The dinning room is always ready for dinner guests.

Our master bed room.

Have a wonderful weekend and thanks for stopping by.

Flea Market Whites

My sister and I went to a local flea market and I scored!
In fact, we met up with our other sister at a garage sale on the way.

Chippy and Ironstone.
Two of the best whites there are.

You should have seen us carrying all of this to our car.
I am not including the cute little round metal table I found for the deck.
It is yellow and is not allowed to show its' face until it has been painted white.

I was told the pitcher was worth much more than I was being charged.
But, that's not what I am paying.
I took it home at my price.

It pays to haggle.

The bed, well, I am not too sure where it is going at this very moment.

But.

I knew I couldn't leave it.
Actually it was my little sister who sold me on it.
For that price, you can put it on the deck she said.

SOLD!

We were quite a spectacle.
Laughing with sisters is always the best way to spend a day.

I am sharing my new whites with Kathleen from Faded Charm and WHITE WEDNESDAY
and
Cindy from My Romantic Home for Show and Tell Friday.

Snow Balls

It is prime snow ball season here.

and

I thought I LOST MY CAMERA!

I had been searching the house and gardens for the past three days looking for it.

Thank goodness, as of this very morning it is now back in my posession.
I did what any blogger would do and wandered around Arbor House Lane gardens.

Taking lots of photos of my gardens, before I headed off to baseball of course.

My Snow ball bushes are just beautiful this year.
Many of the bushes are just packed with fluffy white snowballs.

Almost all of the winding paths will have a snow ball bush.

This Viburnum is also loaded white white flowers.
I think this is the prettiest I have seen it.

The flowers remind me of a lace cap Hydrangea.

As you can see Mr. Mittens is still letting himself out daily and enjoying it very much.

This is the arbor that leads to our front door.
Both sides are covered in wild white roses, an autumn clematis and pink fairy roses.
In the next couple of weeks it should be an amazing site.

Snow on the mountain to go with my snowballs.

This little snow ball bush is a transplant from one of the larger bushes.
I let them under root for a couple of years and then transplant them.

This is the flower bed you see first when you drive in the driveway.
I just clean out overgrown ivy and I am ready to put in a few annuals and then mulch.

Sooooo fluffy!

A garden angel.

Snow ball bushes on the side of the house.

More in the back.

Just to show you, it really is not all white at my home and gardens.
These are some after Easter discounted hydrangeas I bought at Home Depot and planted in my little wagon.

Thanks for stopping by to see some of my gardens.
Now git and enjoy Spring before I throw a snow ball at you!

I am sharing my gardens with Tracie from Fishtail Cottage for Cottage Garden Party.
Stop by and visit the beautiful gardens.

White Garden

I was going t o try to create this flower bed last year but I was not able to convince Mr. M.
I think I will have better luck this year.

Of course I am not done weeding the flower beds I already have,
but that doesn't stop me from dreaming of new ones.

I found these on Google, but I can't find the original source or artist.

I would like to make at least one of these for my new garden.
I think I may have to put a call into my brother the carpenter.
I could let him help me make some for my birthday coming up.

I found this beautiful picture here and it is a garden full of inspiration.

This is almost how I want mine except for the wood enclosures.
I even love the fountain but without a water source a statue may work better.
I found this inspiration here by Goggling white gardens.

This is what I am thinking for the pathways, inspiration found here, love the green and white.

My planting list for the parterre gardens.

Each of the sections will have:
One Snowball bush
One tall Arborvitae bush
Three Boxwood bushes
Three white Rose bushes
Three white Saliva plants
Three white Baby's breath plants
Three white Aster plants
Three white Delphinium plants
Three white Phlox plants

Also depending on the size and necessity I will also add in a variety of white annuals
 and maybe some grasses.

Now, this is only in dream form right now.
I have to slowly break it to Mr. M., who thinks I have enough gardens right now.
He does not understand, a gardener can not have too many gardens.

I am sharing this for White Wednesday with Kathleen from Faded Charm

The Beast is Back

I had to make a special trip and bring home the BEAST.

Several months ago we dropped off my husband's Lazy Boy at the upholsters.
Oh yeah it is back. More heavy sarcasm!

I picked a pretty cream fabric with design for the front and white denim for the sides and back.

I will be painting the base and the handle white this weekend.
Mr. M. is very happy to have his chair back.  He agreed to the fabric choices so he could keep his chair.
I will agree that it is very comfortable and it lasted through three children being fed and rocked in the chair.
BUT
I still HATE this chair.
It takes up so much room.
Put it in the basement you say, well I did think of that too, but I kind of whited up that room too.
Poor Mr. M. - that is what my girl Sara is saying, I just know it.
So the chair stays upstairs and I am ok with that.
For now!

I do love the ruffle at the bottom.

To take away some of my frustration, I decided to visit a few fun shops.
I was able to find a few treasures, I usually am lucky like that.

A good bounty for a great price.

Seriously, can anyone have too much ironstone.

This little guy looks great in the kitchen.

A new chippy wood shelf for the basement, I am not sure if the blue is staying yet.

This little tool holder is going to be used for silverware and necessities for having dinner on the deck.
Overall I had a good day out.

Now the chair is home and we have happy husband.
Funny thing is, he is the one throwing telling the kids to stay away from his chair with their dirty hands.

So, how about you, do you have one of these chairs to decorate around?
