Bringing Back The Roses

 The Roses are Back!

As my gardens turn back to green.
I tend to bring out the flowers in the house.

I have collected rose plates, cups and saucer, pitchers, fabric for many years.
You name it, I probably have roses on it.
I was in overload.
So, I put them away.

But.
Lately, I have been wanting them again.
So.
Slowly, they have been mixed in with my white.

On the walls.

New ones found at flea markets.
The always is room for a new one, right.

Favorites enjoyed once again.

Love, the delicate plates.

New made to look old.

Cups ready for a tea party.

All stacked up in the dinning room.

I can't complain too much about the green.
The rose bushes are on their second blooming.
Not as many buds as the first, but still just as beautiful.

How are your gardens growing?

New Garden

Maximizing my time.
This week I am back to my normal work week leaving me with two days off.
I was finally able to fix the fire pit and plant the new garden.

This is the path to the fire pit.

It was originally red sand left over from a pool installation.
I hated the sand, it stained everything.
Today we will finish the far right corner and put the chairs back.

As for the kids having a place to play in the sand.
I think I have talked Mr. M. into building a sand box, seeing as that tree house has still not been built.

I washed the stones last night.
They look and feel like the pebbles from Olcott Beach.
I am glad I choose to go with the larger stone.

The left side of the garden was just planted last year.
Each year I will add a few plants until it looks like a full lush English garden.
No room for weeds.

This is the start of the new garden.
I have two flowering ornamental pear trees.
A Thuja Green Giant tree.
Two Limelight hydrangea bushes.
Several blue berry bushes.  That the birds have already discovered.
A Catmint plant.
 Some creeping phlox.
Boxwood bushes.
A pink rose bush.
Lavender.
Delphinium.
Foxglove.

One of my ROCKS.

I left plenty of room to add 6 of my arborvitae bushes that are in planters for the summer.
After two years of being in planters they are a nice size for my gardens.
Next year I will go with boxwood bushes in my planters.

I took these pictures in the morning so I wouldn't have the blaring sun, only problem, fog.
Oh well.
At least my garden is planted and I can enjoy our 4th of July party/birthday party.

Thanks for stopping by.
I hope everyone has a wonderful July 4th.

The Roses are Here, The Roses are Here

My pink fairy roses are starting to bloom.

There are masses of them.

My pink climbing roses are also in bloom.
It smells heavenly here.

They are growing up the arbor.

The pink fairy rose bush in the back yard.

There are several birdhouses in there, though you can barely see them.

It looks amazing with all that pink.
This is the first blooming.
They will bloom for several weeks, then grow all summer and bloom again late August/September.

White climbing roses by the side entrance to the garage.
This is where I want to put the small over door arbor.
By the end of summer I will surely need it.

The roses on the path to the fire pit are in full bloom.
Some have lost their petals and they looks so pretty on the ground.

Today, I plant 4 more rose bushes.
The sun is out and I can move dirt to where I need it.

This is my project for the week.
Put in dirt and plants and a new walkway.

I have exciting news.
We have passed the electrical, plumbing and rough inspection.
It is time for insulation!

We have saved, worked and waited for this for 4 years.
Lots of work ahead, but we can't wait to get started.

I hope you are having a wonderful summer and thanks for stopping by.

I am partying with Tracie from Fishtail Cottage for a Cottage Garden Party.

Ballet Slipper Pink

I started painting my daughter's desk chair.
Ballet Slipper Pink.

Such a delicate color.
I am not sure what fabric I am going to use.
I am going to go through my stash of vintage fabric in hopes of finding one that has the same color in it.
My daughter ok'd ruffles at the bottom edge.

I started painting my daughter's desk chair.
Ballet Slipper Pink.

Before the chair was painted.

Flowers from the grocery store.
Same kind of pink.

In the living room.

Peonies from the gardens.
Same.

In the dinning room.

Roses in my flower garden.
Same.

Peonies in the garden.
Same.

Flowers in the pots.
Same.

I think I have my theme color this summer.
Pink.
With a side of blue.

Have you planted your pots?
What are your colors?

First Roses of the Season

This is going to be the year of the roses here at Arbor House Lane.

This is the path from the driveway into the firepit area.
These bushes are just full of lovely pink fragrant roses.
I wish I had written the name down in a book, because they are so hardy and they have few thorns.

High winds and lots of rain have caused them to loose lots of petals.
I love how they look all over the garden bed.

I have a pair of iron gate ends on each side of the path.

Peonies, roses and foxglove.
A lovely combination.

Wild white roses almost completely cover the arbor at the side of the house.
Almost like a secrete garden.
Soon this arbor will be covered in huge pink roses.

Wild white roses on the front arbor.
During this week the arbor will be covered in tiny white roses.

Arbor view from the front door.

This is a mass of little pink fairy roses.
Next week it should be full of small pink roses.
These are my favorite rose bushes.
They require little maintenance and they can grow to be huge if you let them.
I can't wait to cut some and bring them in the house.

The arbor as it looks from the road.

This climbing rose in the corner to the garage door.
We will be building a small over the door arbor to let the roses continue to grow up.
Like the one below.

North Carolina Arbor installation.

These would be simple to make in a weekend.

Oh, honey, whatchadoin?
