The Kids Room

Welcome to my Link to Show and Tell Friday  at My Romantic Home.

I thought I would introduce you to a special room at our house that is JUST FOR THE KIDS.  When we were remodeling our basement I wanted to have a special room where the kids could go to play by themselves and not have to worry if they were making a mess or if parents would tell them what to do or play with.  I wanted them to have a special place to just be KIDS.

You see this little door, it is only 4' high, perfect for a child, not so much for an adult.

What do you think we may find?  First lets peak in the window and see what is going on.

Would you like to look inside?

Come on I know you want to!

Would you expect to find bugs on the walls?

How about a place to draw on the wall?

Play with lots of fun toys?

Use your imagination and order lunch to go?

Thank you for coming to visit MY KIDS ROOM!
But now you must go

and visit all the other Show and Tell bloggers.
Have a wonderful weekend!

Mother's Day Tablescape

Since I have already set the tables yesterday for White Wednesday at Faded Charm I thought I would join an new linking party today.  Now I can spend the rest of my day in the garden instead of trying to think of something to talk about.  So please join me and many wonderful bloggers for Tablescape Thursday at Between Naps on the Porch

Every year I host Mother's Day brunch at my home for my family and my husband's.  I am the one who gets it all ready and then I help Mr. M make the food, you see he is a great cook and baker.  Yep you got it, fresh pancakes or waffles every weekend mmmm.

Let's peak in the dinning room and see how it is set for brunch.

Thank you for stopping by to visit me and make sure to visit all the other tablescapes.
I hope you have a wonderful Mother's Day.

White Wednesday Setting Up For Mother's Day Brunch

This week for White Wednesday with Kathleen at Faded Charm. I decided to show you my table set for Mother's Day brunch that I am hosting for my family.

I also thought I would show you a comfy spot on the deck all ready for our guests.   Doesn't it make you want to grab a glass of wine and a good book and settle in for the day?

From the deck you can get a peak at one of the brick patios all decked out for the occasion.  Come with me and see if this would be a place you would want to sit for a lovely Mother's Day brunch.

Thank you for stopping by to see my Whites on the Deck and Patio.  Have a wonderful day and don't forget to stop by and see all the other wonderful Whites.

I Talk to Much

A blogger friend notified us recently that she had hit her 100 posting and how were we going to celebrate.  I just happened to notice today that damn I already posted over 100, missed that milestone.  I guess I will have to celebrate 200.  OK, another important fact I recently discovered, I am only turning 42, all year I have been telling everyone I am 42, oops so I aged myself by a year.  As you can see I am not worried about my age or the number that represents it.

Oh and in case anyone wanted to know my birthday is coming up.

There was a joke I used to play with my mom (who is no longer here).  On May first, I would start reminding her how many days until my birthday, and I would get the same response "I know Alaina."  You see the funny thing on my part, not hers, I would do this everyday until the actual day of my birthday.  The best is when my birthday would fall on Mother's Day, oh how I would remind her what a wonderful gift she has of me as a daughter.  I also would ask her so what did you get me each day.  Yep, I was and can be annoying.  I try to save it for my family members, they really can't ignore me, well not forever.  Thanksgiving and Christmas are at my house.  If my sisters read this, I know I am annoying but hey it is fun. Chairs and tables that's all I got to say.

That's all for today, Spring is here, the weeds and flowers are calling to me.  Time to get dirty, everyone have a great day.

Pink Saturday

Join me today for PINK SATURDAY and all the other PINKIES here with Beverly at How Sweet The Sound.

I finally have some flowers in bloom now. The first one is Double Pink Flowering Almond.  Now I planted three of these several years ago.  One died, too much water.  The other two should, I say should be larger because of the age if it were not for BAD BUNNIES.  The only reason it is so big this year is that our dog Cooper keeps the BAD BUNNIES out of the fenced in area.

The next picture is of an apple tree my husband's grandfather planted some 40 or 50 years ago.  The acreage in our back yard should be full of fruit trees that his grandfather used to farm.   However, due to whatever reasons, we only have a few real old ones left and since they have not been sprayed in so many years the fruit is real      bad.
I wish I could take the picture that shows how amazingly beautiful it is right now.  This is what our little fruit trees look like.  I was 5 months pregnant with my oldest son when we planted 50 trees.  There are only about 15 left, dang deer and BAD BUNNIES.

I love to go and cut branches to bring in to put on the kitchen table and around the house.  The look great in white pitchers.
Apple blossoms smell so pretty but not pear YUCK!
I hope you enjoyed my pink.  Now I have to get back to weeding.
