We took our visiting family to the American side of Niagara Falls.
Oh boy was it HOT!!!!
We had 4 young children that were not as much appreciative of the Falls as the adults were. There was a lot of complaining about all the walking and how hungry and hot they were. After all the walking we finally were able to get cooled off by going on the Maid of the Mist. It is a big boat that takes you right up to the falls and you get plenty wet from the mist. We had a fun day, complaining aside.
Can you see me? I am the one in the BLUE rain gear, hahaha.
Can you believe how far down it is.
The water may look calm now, but just a short distance away it is not.
Just a little mist.
Anyone who did not wear the rain gear was soaked by the end of the ride.
What an amazing sight!
From here you can see the look-out tower that takes you down to the bottom of the falls.
Our Canadian friends across the border.
Double rainbows from the mist.
Niagara Falls, from either the American or Canadian side is amazing to see in person.
The pictures do not do it justice.
Alaina,
ReplyDeleteThank you for sharing your day at Niagara Falls. I have never been. It's been on my list of places to see since finding postcards of it in my Gram's collection. How hot was it? We are in the midst of a heat wave in NJ -- temps in the 100s. YUCK.
Your Friend,
Deborah
Your pictures are amazing, Alaina! It looks like a wonderful time. I've never been to Niagra Falls. It's so far away from where we live...maybe one day. :)
ReplyDeleteHave a wonderful day!
Hugs ~ Jo :)
Thanks for the memories of my home Alaina...i miss it!

You are right...families just don't understand the white "thing".
I LOVE your house!!!!
Maid of the Mist!!!!!!!! The reminds me of Bruce Almighty!!!
ReplyDeleteBEAUTIFUL!
One day I want to make a trip across Canada, and see this fair land. Your pictures are the best I have seen of Niagra Falls.
I have only seen the usual post card!
I think you made Pamela homesick poor dear!
What a fun trip! I remember being young and complaining non stop about the heat almost as if my poor mother could do anything about it. Those pictures are amazing but that first one is scary. I am scared of heights!
ReplyDeleteHave a great week!
Alex
P.S. Did you remember to wear waterproof mascara?!
You're having the same problem with comments on BLOGGER that I am! Your pictures are thrilling and fun! I was at the falls during the winter. They're frozen! It's crazy! Thanks for your visit and comments. Jacqueline
ReplyDeleteYou are quite the accomplished photographer.
ReplyDeleteP.S. I want to come to your house and eat lunch in your beautiful kitchen.:-)
This is so awesome Alaina! Your pictures are wonderful of the experience. Thanks for taking us along. I've never been to Niagra Falls, but would love to see it someday!
ReplyDeletehugs
Wow! I think the photos are great! Good enough to make me a little queasy even, I don't like heights. No, your pictures are just fine thank you. I'll just sit tight here on the west coast.
ReplyDeleteDid I every tell you about my backpacking trip up Half Dome in Yosemite when I was 10? That's when I discovered I didn't like heights!
I've been to both sides of the falls and have to say I prefer the American side. More park-like and less touristy!
