My father paints!
Maybe this is why I am drawn to painting myself.
The painting of the arbor is one of my favorites.
I am lucky to own one, there are only three similar and no more.
My father has not painted any like it since. . . . . . .
One of his floral paintings.
I think I prefer his old barn ones the best, I have yet to get one of those, there is time.
He still paints.
It has our initials on the tree.
The tree of life.
He paints during the winter when he is not busy being a farmer.
The boy draws because the Grandfather paints!
It's in his bones to be artistic.
The barn one is my favorite:)
ReplyDeleteHe needs to paint more! Hurry up winter, I want him back in the studio!
I LOVE the arbor painting!!! I would give anything to be able to paint like this. I always think that when I get older and maybe a little less busy, I would love to try it. Your father has so much talent...I do hope you will tell him so for me. I also love that he is a farmer. That is what my husband abd I did for the first sixteen years of marraige. What a wonderful way to raise a family.
ReplyDeleteI wanted to tell you how much I love your deck. It is so pretty and I love all the specail touches you have done...like the chandy and the cute little swing. Such a great space to enjoy the Summer.

Wow, those are amazing. They have such a haunted depth to them. Really fantastic.
ReplyDeleteOh my gosh, Alaina, your father is an amazing artist! He should have his own show!! Some of the most fabulous artists just paint for themselves and their loved ones, and the rest of us never get to know about their amazing talent. Thank you for sharing these amazing paintings with us. :)
ReplyDeleteEnjoy the rest of your weekend!
Hugs ~ Jo :)
I just wanted to add, my father has done many one man water color shows and art shows in the past. He still paints but most of his paintings are through custom orders for his Tree of Life paintings.
ReplyDeleteAll of them are beautiful!!! How lucky to have such a treasure! I think your right....it's in his blood.

What an amazing artist your father is Alaina! I love all of these beautiful paintings, but the Arbor painting is my favourite, it is just beautiful! How wonderful to see that your father's passion for painting is continuing on in your family through you and through your son's drawings. Wishing you a wonderful week ~ Tina x
ReplyDeletethe painting runs deep in your family Alaina...his artwork is truly beautiful!
ReplyDeleteYour Father is a wonderful painter.
ReplyDeleteThe arbor is a lovely one but I really like the one he painted for you and your husband as a wedding gift. You initials on the tree is so special.
Thanks for your suggestions on my pillow. I did make some rosettes for it but it seemed to take away from the vintage linen with lace that I used for the ruffled sides.
I'll come up with something or just leave it plain.
hugs
Sissie
