Winter Gardening



I have heard the pleas, begging, ranting and raving.............

BUT

 the snow is NOT going anywhere at this moment.

So

 I decided to do some winter gardening indoors.





I made a couple of terrariums in several glass containers.






I just love baby tears.



I have kept my house plants simple and easy to care for.
They are to tide me over till I can get outside and work in my gardens.


What about the rest of you gardeners who are stuck inside waiting for the snow to melt.

How do you deal with the frozen green thumb?

    I love these. I have a large cloche style planter "somewhere" in my basement. I will have to dig it out and plant one. I am a florist and always have the dishgarden size plants on hand. Thanks for reminding me. We are getting more nasty weather this week, so this will be a great project. ~~Sherry~~

    Love your indoor gardens, especially the baby tears in the old urn. I deal with winter in much the same way. It's amazing how fresh cut floral arrangements, forced bulbs and house plants can lift you out of the winter slump.

    Your plants look pretty and healthy...I love baby's tears! All of your cloches are wonderful, too. I can never seem to find them for a reasonable price. Happy gardening!;-D

    I love terrariums ...
    I made 8 of them last spring placed them in my shop and they all sold in 3 days :) I never thought the come back of the terrariums would be such a hit :)
    I need to make me one now! yours make me want one of my own.

    I am not a gardener...just a garden admirer and your greens are gorgeous even though they are inside!

    Saw the funniest sign yesterday in someone's yard. It read "Snow For Sale"...think they've had enough!!

    I just keep reminding myself of the constant backache I will have once Spring is here and I start the clean-up and weeding.LOL! Really though...I spend a lot of my time going over pictures of last years garden paying close attention to plants that need to be move or that look ackward where they are now. I also look through many garden books and mags for new inspiration.

    I love your beautiful little pots of beauty you have everywhere in that gorgeous home of yours. I love how the green pops with all the white!

    Your little winter gardens are lovely. When it comes to gardens my thumbs might as well be frozen. My mom has a great garden, with many plants she brought back to life after their short stints with me.

    I ha going to have to get on google earth or a map or something and just figure out exactly where you are located...you can see the city skyline?? I have got to go update my geography!!!I miss our moments on chit chat!

    I tried that last year and they all got moldy! What am I doing wrong?
    The great news was I never once had to once water them! I just brought them home from the store and put them in the cloche. They stayed damp (too damp!)
