The weekend is here, the good news; the snow is melting away, the bad news; it is raining cats and dogs. I took a break from cleaning, the computer is in the office and I am not getting much cleaning done, but I am enjoying my day.
I thought I would join Saturday Nite Special with Donna from Funky Junk Interiors.
BENCHES
THEY"RE EVERYWHERE!
I have always loved benches.
Large
Small
In between
They all look great to me.
In the kitchen.
In the dinning room.
In the living room.
In the bathrooms.
I have found that children can become more independent when given "a step up."
As decorative pieces.
And sometimes
just because!
Take a visit to Funky Junk Interiors, there are some great benches to see.
Have a wonderful weekend!
I love benches too!! Mine are packed away....I may be digging them out!!!
ReplyDeleteAlaina,
ReplyDeleteI have a bench near and dear to my heart, it sits in the breeze way between the summer kitchen and the back room. It's an antique pew that came out of an old chapel that was demolished.
Love your collection and how you use them throughout your beautiful home. I just spied the rug in your living room. It's lovely. Can you show more photos of it and tell us where you located it?
Your Friend,
Deborah

I just LOVE your benches and you have the prettiest accessories!! We're suppose to be getting a lot of rain tomorrow, guess we'll be staying in. Martina
ReplyDeleteBoy Alaina, are they all old? Very cute!
ReplyDeleteLove the picture with the mantel and the bench! Benches are so useful for display and just the right height to add on a table. I have had many benches but I am benchless at the moment.
ReplyDeleteTo answer your question about the flagstone, it is not cement... there is a process that they did and if I can remember because it has been years since we put it in. First you carve out the dirt where you want the rock and add a bed of sand, then you have to pack it and there is a tool for that. You simply pound the sand until it is level, place the rock like a huge puzzle so it is close together and then you add the crushed sandstone. It is fine and doesn't get into the grass. I really don't have much trouble with the rock moving. And I love the natural look of it. My yard is pretty small so it is very doable.
Have a great day
Rebecca
